The trophy for tomorrow's Flames of War event is done.

I got most of the painting done and just have some detail work to do, like the tracks and brown shade on the exposed flesh.  After that a coat or two of matt varnish and it will be done.

This Saturday I am running another Flames of War Tournment, this time it is a late, late war event representing the last weeks of the conflict in Europe, with the really big tanks of all sides to be represented.  As a trophy, since this event marks one year of running these events, I decided to make and present an "uparmored" Sherman "Easy Eight" ( Read more... )

Richard Alvin Heskett passed away this morning due to a massive heart attack.  He was attempting to get his snow blower started and apparently passed out.  He was pronounced dead at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN after all attempts to revive him failed.

He was born in Wurtzburg, Germany as his father was a member os the US Army occupation ( Read more... )

What I did not know before Thursday evening, when I had to go to work on Friday, was that one of my favorite musicians, James Keelaghan was at this year's Celtic Roots festival at least for Saturday and Sunday.  It made driving straight up from Ann Arbor to Goderich, easy, I can tell you.  Got here in plenty of time to watch him, the Kruger ( Read more... )
