I painted something!

After months and months of not painting anything besides a wall in my house, I finally painted an actual picture! :D

It's not much, quite tiny, due to A) was only size canvas had on hand, and B) didn't have much paint anyway even if did have larger canvas.

LOVE the colors. Hey, I have been putting off painting forever! I need to do 4 new painting for my next exhibit but you know how it is, I procrastinate. I love painting and once I start I can't stop, but there's something about setting up to paint...like I'm afraid of failure or something. *pulls out psychiatrist's couch*

I totally know what you mean! Inspiration is a fickle friend/foe. Regarding feeling afraid to fail, I also know what you mean. I actually heard some really good advise about that: Remember that you're not doing the last painting ever. The canvas that you're painting on is not the last of it's kind. The paint you're using is not the last tubes that will ever be made. If you make a mistake, so what? You can either correct it and move forward or (if it's bad enough), just chalk it up to a learning experience and move on to the next painting, wiser. :)

*pulls out pad and writes down random things you say from the couch...charges stupid amounts of money for doing so* :p

:D I've received the same lecture. 95% of them turn out since I am a perfectionist. Too much of a perfectionist. Some of my paintings can be seen on www.oneofakindthings.com if you want to look. I've sold most of the watercolor flowers and birds, they go quick.
