They're playing Reading, which is like the anti intimate, but am well looking forward to it now. What prick put The Killers in between QOTSA and the Pixies?
Not sure about actual birthday celebrations, but for after hours there's a cool little bar in Soho which is open to five. Full of gays...
Is it the 'Montegue Pyke'? Cos I like it there but Dean and Neil reckon its a gay bar and I don't think it is. Or did you mean 'gays' as in crap people - not the homosexual? I will collate all the suggestions and then see who wins. Hope to see you there dude.
That is rather ridiculous to put The Killers in between such awesome bands. I've seen some coverage of QOTSA at festivals and I've gotta say they didn't sound all theat good. The mixing was, in one very appropriate word: gash but they also seemed to be struggling for some reason, on different occasions too. Last night however they were [insert hyperbolic praise here]!!
I don't mind the Mantague Pyke as it goes, but I don't reckon the clientele are as gay as the name. Nah, there's this bar down near Soho Square, forget the name.
It was great, loads of intrigue: that old guy with the wedding ring having dinner with a fit bloke thirty years than him at 2am in Soho. Love affair, rent boy, escort? Keeps you guessing...
Talking of intrigue - I saw one of my sisters friends on the way home from the gig who I'm really good friends with myself. She was with a guy on the Fenchurch Street platform all pissed and getting 'intimate' but this guy wasn't her boyfriend! I don't have a clue whether she's still with the boyfriend and stuff and its really non of my business anyway so I avoided her but thinking about it made me really upset, all Houlden Caulfield style. I didn't know whether to say hello or not y'know...
According to Neil there's a Bob Geldof owned indie bar/small club called Bad Bob's that is open til five. It sounds good but Neil talks a lot of bollocks too sometimes!
