Short update

About two and a half weeks ago I had an "interview" with a life insurance broker for a case manager position. It wasn't so much an interview though as it was a typing test and a computer simulation with multiple choice questions. The lady who oversaw the whole thing didn't even ask me any questions about myself or my prior work/experience...she had ( Read more... )

Congrats on the new job! Life Insurance is a pretty useful thing to know about, especially if you know someone who's sick and, you know.

Your interview experience sounds a bit like how I got the job with Kimberly Clark. I resume-blasted for weeks and got nothing, but KC called me back within 15 minutes, scheduled my interview for the next day, interviewed briefly for 10 minutes, and called me back the following day to start the following Monday. o.o;;

Hooray for not stressing out for non-formal interviews, I guess?

Definitely. I hate the whole interview process, especially because I never really had to do it for the only other two jobs I've ever had. It's very stressful, and I don't come across as a very confident interviewee, so getting this job without having to go through all that was a huge bonus.

And thanks for the congrats!

I hear you dude. Interviews are one of the things I HATE next to static electricity (my #1 hate). But ironically, they're one of the things I'm actually best at when I'm put on the spot.

Awesome, congrats! My last job, i only had a 10min phone interview and they offered me the job right then. Was pretty cool. My current job I actually had to go in and sit down with my current boss and get asked a bunch of simple questions, mostly about previous experience.

Glad you like the job also. It really sucks working a job you hate.
