I hate it when a plan goes straight to hell...

Sep 17, 2006 16:33

So... today, I was supposed to be grilling out today. It's a gorgeous day for it, too. The plan was, I invited several people from Kempo, along with Shannon and Mindy over for burgers, guac, and a movie. Sounds like fun, yeah? I sure thought so...

Pointless, bitchy rant about food follows... )

I so sorry! *big hugs* Too bad you live so far away, I could sure go for a homemade grilled burger. *rubs belly and licks lips* That sounds yummy. I am with you, if by no other way than in spirit. Miss ya, Buddy.

heh... indeed ;) Well, it just wound up being more burgers for me anyway. Besides, it's been so long since I've actually grilled burgers that I'm glad I didn't have company for it... they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. It was kind of a cascade failure. They were still good, but not the kind of thing I would want to show off to my friends :P

Oh bollox! You are not capable of producing a bad meal, lol. You are way too good of a cook for that. You are entirely too over critical of yourself. Just know that you are missed, deary.

Well, one of these days you are going to have to come back down here and chill. Bonus points if you can get Gary to pay for gas :P

I really hope you didn't get stood up, babe. That sucks. If nothing else, enjoy your dinner. I hear you're an awesome cook. :-)

bah! I'm not all that ;) I've had my monumental failures in the kitchen too, you know ;)

Anyway, it will all work out in the end. I've still got 4 burger patties left I can either freeze, or cook tomorrow night. We'll see.

Well, I have my moments, but like I just told Kim... these didn't turn out so hot, so it's just as well I ate alone. At least it motivated me to get my house cleaned up ;)

Anyway, I'm still waiting for my caravan of Chattanooga people to come crash at my place. I mean really... what good is it to have a friend on the beach if no one takes advantage of it? :P

I repeat. You spend far to much time thinking about food.

it keeps me out of trouble ;) Besides, I like to cook. Call it a hobbie. It's what I do when I can't afford to go SCUBA diving this week, or it's too wet or hot to go for a good 30 mile bike ride.

I was under the impression you are trying to lose wieght. Fixating on various peices of food is not likely to aid in reaching such a goal.

You have a point, but concider this... my options are to go out and eat something horrible bad for me at a fast food or sit down restaraunt, or stay at home and think up new and healthy alternatives.

It's hard to find healthy food here, everything is catering to the tourists. Tourists are on vacation, meanting they either want to east super fast, or super rich. Either way, it's unhealthy. So, I can cook and get as fancy as I want, but I can keep it healthy. Like my curry recipie, for example. The only fat in that dish at all is whatever I leave on the chicken (not much), and whatever oils are found in coconut milk. If I cut the rice out, it would even be low carb ;)

Anyway, all the time I'm spending at the Gym is doing it's part on the weight loss bit. Kempo in particular is alot more intensive than I imagined it would be. Between that, the weights, and my cardio machines at home, I'm coming back around ;)
