Good doctors and nurses
It's National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. Quite a mouthful, but I like how it covers every kind of lab worker, from phlebotomists to MLTs to Histotechs. My work has given us free muffins and hamburgers, and the CLS program has cups and buttons. It's really nice to be acknowledged for the work we do ( Read more... ) -
Back to reality
I'm back from North Carolina, a quick roadtrip I wasn't quite sure was going to happen up until the minute we left after I finished work on Thursday. It seemed so far away, but we only went for a few days, so I didn't even need to pack a proper suitcase. Idiosyncrasies of cats
I don't think I've ever met anyone with a cat that didn't have quirks. I know for sure I don't own one. Like now, for instance, I'm watching my darling little grey fuzzball jump up onto our coffee table and dip his paw in a nearly-empty water glass and lick the water off. Sometimes he'll, I don't know, get too much or something and then he'll shake ( Read more... ) -

Working 24 hours a week and going to school full time is hard. Really hard. I thought 20 hours a week and part-time school was bad, but I had no idea ( Read more... ) -

Time to say something again
I'm really happy with my work schedule. Yes, I'm back to working weekends, but it's really great to just work a few 8 hour shifts a week and then have a bunch of days off. When I was working 4 hours a day all week I felt like I couldn't get anything done. I'm not even talking about homework, I mean grocery shopping, bill paying, etc ( Read more... ) -
More changes
I have another new job. Same place, same supervisor, new role. Same pay, but slightly more hours (4 more per week), so we'll see how my sanity fares as far as school goes. I know next semester will be hectic. The nice thing is that I'll be working three 8 hour shifts every week. The bad thing is that I'm back to every other weekend. Oh well, I kind ( Read more... ) -
