Had a rare plant class today and learned a lot about the significance of my job: I feel much better about what I do, now.

Late night thoughts...
It's a strange thing, feeling happy but not content. I wonder if I shall ever be so.
I am in an odd sort of predicament: the person I am is not compatible with the person I am becoming. It is a slow progression, admittedly, but I am becoming the change I seek. The chaos that has been my life of late is severely grating on my need for order, but I ( Read more... ) -

I'm moving into room 235 after supper. It's a single occupancy room, so I'll have it to myself. It's nice because I'll have more privacy, but also kind of crappy because I've liked having Jeremy as a roommate. We help each other out without asking, it's just kind of understood. First day
Today was my first day as a crew leader. Not too bad. I chose to teach someone how to use the GPS. Well, turns out she's either an extremely slow learner or just doesn't care. The former crew leader said he gave up trying to teach her anything a long time ago. But we got through the day. Found some cactus. And a scorpion. And another garter snake. ( Read more... ) -
A successful day
Today I found a cactus. It was the first new one in about 3 or 4 weeks. Then they found 4 or 5 more. We pretty much assured that there won't be an oil well in that location. Success. They can still get the oil under it, they'll just get it from another well. They'll drink your milkshake ( Read more... ) -
First weekend
Today was a decent day, still stayed mostly cloudy but it was sunny long enough for me to run a quick mile. Got in a short lift session, wrote another song (music is included with this one, but it's in my head since I don't know how to write music... yet). Watched LOTR The Fellowship of the Ring. Texas lost to TCU and won't go to the CWS. Lame. And ( Read more... )
