[Guy sounds edgy.  I wonder why.]

So ah, business as usual.  And how is everyone today?

[He clears his throat nervously.]

Right right.  Well, I'd like to ask Batou and Major Kusanagi to come to my office, please.

[Guy's announcement gave her the split second of warning she needed to avoid being taken entirely by surprise, and by the time Gambler's teleport is finished, she's glaring. She takes in the office with a glance, including Batou's presence, and then turns the glare wordlessly on Guy.]

[Batou's head snaps up and then he's suddenly in Guy's office. He scowls and glances over, seeing the Major--but he doesn't drop out of autistic mode. He folds his arms, automatically coming to stand beside and slightly behind her left shoulder.]

[This was going to be challenging. Guy smiles at the pair and leans back against his desk, not quite sitting. He's well aware that they would destroy his furniture if they sat down, but he feels obliged to offer anyway.]

Ah, sorry I wasn't able to find any seating for you both.

[He smiles brightly through the venomous looks, then flips open the two files, both held against a bright blue clipboard.]

We can sit on the floor if you would rather?

We'll stand.

[Speaking for the two of them is reflexive. It doesn't even occur to her to do otherwise.
