DK Training update
I got my training schedule from Coach Jen. I rode 2 hours yesterday on my cross bike and came home ready to eat everything in the house. Time to start planning a little better with carbs and proteins. I probably also need to get some protein powder so I can make some recovery drinks ( Read more... ) -

DK Training- slowly increasing my mileage. Yesterday I rode 20 miles on my road bike and 5 miles that evening on my mountain bike.

How much does the DK200 cost?
I read an article once that said it costs between 4k and 24k to complete in an Ironman, when you consider the cost of your equipment, food, traveling, etc. Luckily, I already have all of my gear... 4 bikes to choose from, helmet, couple pairs of gloves, sunglasses, water bottles, camel pack. Training plan
I met with Coach Jen today. She put together my training plan for my Ironman back in 2013; following her plan,I felt ready to race a month before my event. I view the Dirty Kanza as equal, and possibly more challenging, than an Ironman. She normally charges $60 a month for training, or for a $100 donation to team in training, she will put together ( Read more... ) -
2016 Dirty Kanza 200
I registered for the DK200, a 200 mile gravel race through the Flint Hills. Since I would like to keep my facebook friends while I train for this event, I will be using LiveJournal to track my progress. (Occasionally something from here might get linked to facebook ( Read more... ) -
