Today at work a camera crew from the Discovery Channel unexpectedly showed up at cubical. They wanted me to show them the projects I'm working on, and explain them. I was so thrown off guard. Especially trying to explain things. It's so complicated. Where do I even start?

So what are the projects you're working on?

I'm scattered light correcting Galileo SSI images of Europa. Next I'm going to line them up with Galileo NIMS images of the same areas, and then combine them. Once that's finished I'll be taking spectral measurements of the terrain from these images.

I've also been cataloging overlapping CRISM images of slope streaks on Mars. Eventually I'll be filtering out the dust and atmosphere in order to take measurements on how the slope streaks change over time.

Every now and then I also put together huge image mosaics for some people at JPL.

Good of your boss to let you know ahead of time you'd be on television.

I kind of don't think she was aware. She wasn't there that day, and she's been all busy and distracted.
