so sad

You know what's sad? When you go to put together recs for a fandom and realize that all the stories that you want to rec (which haven't already been recced in one forum or another) are your own.

Authors, oh authors, won't you come back to NCIS fandom?

You know that running joke on the show, about how nobody knows what NCIS is or what they do? I get the same thing every time I mention the show to someone.

Personally, I've been writing like a mad person this past month, most of it in NCIS. However, I have trouble writing non-crossovers (and in this fandom, anything but gen) - and from what I can tell, NCIS fandom doesn't really take to that. But then, I just found the ncisfanfic journal, so maybe I'll start posting my tth100 ficlets there, too.

(Though, if you want to off Martin Gero, be my guest - I'll be your alibi.)

...I have trouble writing non-crossovers...

Pardon me for butting in, but does this mean you have no trouble writing actual crossovers? Because there is a serious dearth of decent NCIS crossover fics, and if you're writing any, point me to 'em. Please!

I'll read just about anything, with any of the 80+ fandoms I regularly circulate through. Gen is totally a-okay with me, or slash or het as long as the particular pairing doesn't squick me. I'm completely multifandominational, I can work with just about anything. Alas, I do believe I've only ever come across maybe four or five quality xovers in all the years I've been looking, and that's just sad. :( I'd dearly love to be able to find more! ::wink, wink, nudge, nudge::

multifandominational

If that's not an LJ community... it should be.

80+ fandoms

Yikes..I can barely keep track of the 10 or so I trudge through.

I have found one or two decent NCIS crossovers at Twisting the Hellmouth (the authors actually keep the characters *gasp* in character). My stuff is at TtH, as well as my LJ. I'm currently doing a tth100 table, and am at about #23 -> Story order at bottom

Most of the crossovers I've come across, were all Sentinel or Stargate (complete with infodump). (Except for the awesome Without a Trace crossover I found years ago.)

Oh, it's not a matter of keeping track of pretty much anything. I often go for weeks, sometimes months without reading anything in some fandoms because I'm off bingeing in others. But eventually, I will cycle my way back and then devour everything I can. The sad thing is that occasionally these cycles happen within hours, or even story by story. Yesterday, for example, I was reading The X-Files one moment, Sailor Moon the next, and I woke up this morning with a craving for MacGyver. There's no real rhyme or reason to my brain, I'm afraid. :P

Most of the crossovers I've come across, were all Sentinel or Stargate (complete with infodump). (Except for the awesome Without a Trace crossover I found years ago.)And then there's that wonderfully long Stargate/NCIS fic written by a Sentinel author, heh. ;) But I don't think I've ever read one with WaT, so that may be new to me. Rec please? And in return, have you read Shywr1ter's Dark Angel/NCIS crossover? Or, if you'll forgive ( ... )

Conflict of Interest, Control, Sometimes the Box Bleeds - all NC-17, Tony/Martin (NCIS/WaT) by Brenda Antrim (now Glacis)
Found on the crossover page of her new site -> HERE

Shywr1ter's Dark Angel/NCIS crossover - don't think I've read this, rec please? I'll need something once I'm done this SGA/BtVS ficathon entry that's killing my brain.
As for shade_shifter - YES! More M7 stuff. Sweet.

I won't go into the state of NCIS at the moment, but I will say 'Yay, centaurs!'. I don't know if I ever reviewed or not - I'll have to go back and check, seeing as I was mostly brain dead this last week.

Oh! Yes, no, I've already read BA's fics before. I'm a long-time fan of her work in many of her fandoms. But thanks anyway! :)

Shywr1ter's fic, "Concurrent Jurisdiction", is here. And I'm sure you'll adore Shifty's stuff, she's a natural at crossovers. In fact, i just finished betaing her latest Sentinel School-verse fic, so she oughtta be posting that very soon now too.

Also, I just want to apologise to crimsonquills for hi-jacking her post here. I wanted be good and leave you a nice little comment-fic as a show of appreciation, Nix, but when I sat down to write you some Tony-fic... well, let's just say something else came out instead. All this talk of crossovers seems to have corrupted me. ;P

Yes, sorry sorry sorry. In return for not blasting us for highjacking this thread, I offer you the start of an NCIS AU, featuring Bodyguard!Gibbs and CEO!Tony. (It was originally going to be my first attempt at slash, but the muse has deserted me. It's also nowhere near polished ( ... )

if you're going to hijack someone else's journal, this is the way to do it. Fabulous start to an AU, I hope the muse finds you again on this. Maybe a co-writer??

Doubtful. The muse if focussed on other fandoms at the moment.

Oh, oh, awesome beginning! Even if it never goes slash, there's a heck a lot of potential in this idea. You can do soooo much with it!

Please, do find it in your heart to continue? I'd definitely jump back in NCIS as a fandom for this beauty. :D

I only ever had a few scenes sketched out, and not much more in the way of plot.
I'm generally not so good with actual *plot*. :)

Okay, this is just a horrible tease. *grins* I mean, I enjoyed it, and it seems like a set up for an awesome idea...but the awesome idea is not forthcoming! *mourns* I know as well as anyone how fickle muses can be, but I still mourn. *g*
