Yeah, TW was never one for teamy goodness, really. Though the fandom likes to think it was. The other GREAT whole-team moment was at Gwen's wedding, when they're all clapping and happy, and then after at the reception.
They had their moments, but in series 1 especially there was a disconnect. Gwen was uncomfortable around Ianto, Owen didn't want to be a team with anyone, and Ianto was kind of the odd-duck that no one wanted to associate with because he sort of tried to kill them all.
They acted like a team some in KKBB, and I think it was the absence of Jack that forced them to bond together. Series two is better for team action in general though, even if they're still not super cohesive. They needed like a bonding retreat, with a camp-fire and awkward games.
The wedding episode also makes me happy. Especially the part with Rhys protecting Gwen, and the reception. Really enjoyed that episode period though.
