I love that this song is based on a Lawrence Ferlinghetti poem. This is her first video in forever and comes complete with its own appearance of Colton Ford (a gay porn star).
Uh muh GUH! I've been obsessed with this song too! I've listened to it at least 10 times a day for the last 3 days since I bought the album. I haven't even listened to any other of her songs yet, that's how bad it is. Of course the fact that I'm going to meet her in 2 weeks is adding fuel to the fire! I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself. I just get this joyful feeling when I think about it. I might even cry when I meet her. I can feel it already.
Omigod! I know exactly how you feel. You'll have to tell us how it goes for you. Don't worry...Crying is way better than what I did when I got my chance to meet her at a CD signing she was doing at a Borders here in Seattle years ago. I just completely froze up. I was just so overwhelmed and starstruck that I couldn't think of anything to say. I mean how could I properly1 verbalize the reason for an obsession I've had since I was 9 or 10--in a way that doesn't sound pathetic or just plain creepy. All I could say was, "see you tonight". She looked at me with a confused look like I was crazy. You know it's bad when Cyndi Lauper is looking at YOU like YOU'RE crazy. I left that experience with a stomach ache. I felt like I completely blew my chance to say something meaningful. So, even if you cry, at least that's conveying something meaningful to her.
