Having once been a character performer with a major Southern California theme park, I can totally relate with many of your points and arguments here. I really appreciated hearing of your observations on how children "at the right age" treat animal characters. It was those special awesome moments I had with children in particular, but also a few adults, who took the time to connect with my character that drove me to make my own fursuit, attend furry conventions, and do non-professional performances like community events, parades, and hospital visits
