I just saw that David Halberstam died. I'll miss the guy. He's a legendary journalist and historian who visited TU during my Freshman year only a couple months before the Iraq War. After a listless speech in which he gently criticized the impending war, he conducted a 45 minute Q&A that was just magnificent. While in the speech, he was boring and ( Read more... )

Yeah I saw Halberstam died, too. A shame. On another note, RATT and Poison are playing the OKC Zoo this summer

There is also a huge three day "Rocklahoma" festival in Pryor this summer featuring those bands and a whole lot more similar bands.

Hey, I saw that he'd died, too. I'll have to read something of his, in tribute. (Seems like a lot of authors have been croaking lately.)

Also, good to see you post again. Haven't seen one from you in a while.

Damn, I've never heard of him. Boris Yeltsin just died too--I'm taking Soviet history with Ruane, and it would have been helpful had he died two weeks earlier, because they're summarizing everything I needed to know about him on NPR for my last test in the class. Oh well.
