If you take some mashed potatoes out of a tupperware in the fridge and heat it up to eat, and it smells funny, it might actually be pureed cauliflower. You will not like it.

Yes, perhaps prepared correctly ... and by that I mean, if *I* was prepared! Saw it on a plate, knew what it was ...

Well, I would probably still have made noises and pushed it around my plate. But at least I would have realized it was supposed to taste like that, and wasn't potatoes with totally the wrong texture and therefore going straight into the trash ...

Had there been any real danger of you actually heating something up all by yourself, I might have thought to warn you ;o)

The real mashed potatoes were moldy, if that helps you feel you got the lesser of food evils.
