Sam glanced back at Annie, appreciating her enthusiasm.
"Yeah, alright," he said before turning back to the door.
It was unlikely that whoever caused this amount of blood was still around, but he still tried to be cautious as he tested the door handle. He found it unlocked, so he pushed the door open, waiting a moment before stepping into the doorway and surveying the scene. As he suspected, a body lay on the floor. The blood from the wounds was already beginning to dry, and just from the doorway Sam could tell he was no longer alive.
He glanced back at Annie, trying to explain the situation in a look as much as he could. He wasn't sure it was a good idea for Dairine to see this.
He stepped inside, still being careful not to walk in any of the blood. He narrowed his eyes at the body, before speaking to the others outside the doorway.
"Well, he wasn't shot," Sam said simply.
