Sam and Annie had walked back to the castle mostly in silence. Sam felt slightly awkward around her, in a way that he never had before. It was like she was upset with him, but he hadn't done anything to her -- not directly, anyway. If you wanted to be technical about it, her being her might have something to do with him, but it wasn't something he could help. Even still, he felt bad.
When they entered the castle it seemed like some people were still milling around upstairs. The last thing Sam wanted to do was more introductions, especially now that the Master was running around. And he still had to explain that whole little thing to Annie. He wasn't looking forward to that one. He decided it was best if they find a drink somewhere downstairs.
Although he was an expert on many things, castles were not one of them. But Sam knew enough from watching old movies that there was usually a decanter of scotch to be found in a study or sitting room. He pushed the door open to a couple rooms before finding a very stereotypical study. It was decorated in rich colors, leather chairs, book shelves to the ceiling - everything just the way you would picture it. And sitting neatly on a small desk was a crystal decanter filled with an amber liquid, and surrounded by matching glasses. Sam smiled to himself.
He pushed the door open further, and held it open for Annie. "Finally..." he said.
