I got fined for parking in my own driveway.
Apparantly, the most brilliant idea that the council could come up was "oh hey! No permit! MUST BE SOMEONE INFILTRATING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD DURING THE GOLF-CRAZE MUST FINEEEEEEEEEEE"
I used to be apathetic towards golf.

Two things that makes me look utterly stupid in supermarkets:
1) lightbulbs (no one told me I had to READ the box and convert the wattage- stood there thinking 'god, has everyone suddenly got super eyesight than me? How can you read with 13w?' *Headsmack*)
