Our country killed over 20 people in an assassination attempt on Bin Laden in 1998 in Afghanistan. I feel that Clinton's cruise missile attacks just may have been inspirational to Bin Laden and his followers simply based on my gut reaction to how I'd imagine I would feel if Boeing had cruise missiled over 20 of my family and friends

He had that "inspiration" at least two years earlier when he issued his first fatwah calling for the killing of American civilians for the occupation of Islamic holy places. He issued a second to the same purpose before the US bombing.

It's also worth noting that he was up to the same around in the late 80s and early 90s in Yemen and Algeria, calling for the assassination of 'impious' leaders and backing it up with funding.

Yes Bin Laden and crew were already inspired, but certainly Clinton's attack on the camps provided further inspiration.
