Battle one, Round Onecrumbling_towerApril 11 2006, 23:53:48 UTC
Alythana's bolt of electricity scorches out of the mealstrom of the vanishing storm, Striking the fourth rider and his mount. The rider manages a somewhat delicate dismount as his mount is slain, and ends up on his feet just ahead of the smoking corpse. ( ALythana, It was unclear to me weather you realized that the spell was enhanced by the storm, so I rerolled the damage on the correct dice

Oulah will quickly loose three arrows toward the remaining mounted archer, one toward the leg,in an attempt to pin rider to mount, two and three toward the back of the rider. I believe I end up behind the rider and mount, can I receive attacks of opportunity if I fire at the rider? do I get a flanking bonus? discounting those factors my combat action goes as such. to hit bonuses(+1 for point blank, +1 for prayer +1 for bless -2 for many shot) one- I roll a natural 20 +14 +1 =35 to hit the leg for a roll of 8 damage X 3 for crit +7, or 41 damage to the riders leg two- I roll a natural 8 +9 +1 = 18 to hit the lower back for a roll of 2 damage +7 =9 damage to the riders lower back three- I roll a 14 +14 +1 =29 to hit the lower back again for a roll of 1 damage +7 =8 damage
At the end of this round Oulah will turn to the nearest living threat, and as loudly as he can growl "Leaf one live!"

The D&D system does not deal with facing, assuming that people will react in ways to avoid simply standing with their back to a foe for the course of a round. No bonus is provided for being behind an alert and mobile foe. Also, remember that in order to crit, you need a second to-hit roll as follows: The first roll turns up a number in your weapon's threat range (generally a natural 20, or a nineteen for edged weapons) The second roll is the confirmation roll, a hit indicates the critical was successful, a miss indicates a regular hit. Damage is rolled as appropriate.

on the natural 20 for the confirmation of crit I roll a 13 add my 14 +1 for a total of 28 to hit the rider, for a damage of 45.
As for the wolf's action, I dont really get to tell you what it does. the command it was given would most likely have it trying to scare the horses back towards us, nipping at hind quarters (doing no or very little damage), I dont know if he was far enough around or is fast enough to bring back the fleeing horse, he would likely cut a ways around the humanoid, mabey bringing in the horse that was standing aimlessly.?
I turn toward the first rider (assuming he does not have complete cover among the camels) and speak a sharp word, snapping my arm toward him. Four tiny magical missiles streak from my outstretched hand and weave unerringly through the camels to strike him for 14 points of damage.
(How close am I to the camels, the wagon, and the other party memembers? I'm not clear on how spread out we all are)
All of this action takes place within roughly a sixty foot square. At this point you are about 15 feet from the edge of the milling camels and 25-30 from the rider. The wagon is now 20 feet behind you and a dozen feet to one side, with oulah right by it.

Ana raises her trembling arm again in the direction of the first rider and utters a different spell. An rush of wave-like energy distorts the air expanding to envelope the first rider.

Osilgard: Battle One, Round OnewarlordpompeyApril 12 2006, 18:59:28 UTC
Osilgard shouts to Crusader, "At bay!" prompting the warhorse to rear back and take it's full-round attack action against the giant mount (I can't remember if that's a bite and a hoof strike, or more

Oulah's wolf is out near the fifith rider, having circled to attack the flank.
Crusader and Osilgard's pack mule both tore free of the wagon when he giant horse hit it, the mule is unhurt and crusader takes 4 damage.
Alythana's animal is, of course, guarding a camel.
