I don't think I've ever come to the terms with the fact I was adopted until well I don't know when, but recently. And even so I don't think it's something that one accepts but one realizes. Nowadays when people ask me about my heritage I don't lie and say that I'm German because while my family is my blood just well isn't. I'm not. I say I'm ( Read more... )

Emily I love when you write entries, please do so more often so I can have something intelligent to read rather than the other petty bullshit people post in these things. "I'm not saying that I'm okay with it or happy about it. I don't think that I will ever be. It's just something that life dealt me and I think nearly twenty years later, It's time I am finally okay with it." I love those few lines and I know exactly what you're going through because I'm dealing with it right now. It's not being adopted but it's also something that happened to me when I was younger that I just need to be ok with. Anyways, this entry seriously made my day and now I'll stop rambling :)

love is stronger than blood...i like that...i think it's true.

glad you've come to terms with the adoption thing; i feel like it's something i'ev always been ok with, but still always kind of made me feel isolated.

over the years i've grown to appreciate our family more and more, and i definately feel like a pert of it, but there's always something a little tiny bit off - maybe why i'm such a loner sometimes, who knows.

anyway, props to you for that post, very brave, very bold. you rock.
