Question for my American flist

Nov 10, 2009 20:31

The Captain is heading to The States later on this month, he has a great uncle who lives in Pensylvania(sp?) who has been nagging him to visit so we thought we might take this opportunity. So what would be the cheapest airline to fly from Orlando to Philidelphia airport? any hints would be greatly appreciated, thnx

Delta or US Air might be your best bets. Travelocity and some of those other websites are also good resources for checking fares.

Delta, United and Air Tran I believe all offer shuttles to and from Orland and Phili. (I used to live in Orlando.) Your best bet would probably be to check expedia.com or travelocity.com for his specific dates. I did a quick search of expedia with flexible travel dates and I found a couple that were about $175 American round trip.

Thanks heaps, I found a flight for $73 one way so just need them to 100% confirm his travel and I will book it!

If he can use the Atlantic City (New Jersey) airport it'll be cheaper. My mom does that all the time when she flies to Florida. AC is about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes southeast of Philadelphia. Where's he headed in PA?

He's going to some place called Macungie but I think the great uncle said to fly to the international airport if possible so I guess we'll go with that *shrugs*

Ah! AC wouldn't work for that. There are two closer small airports, Lehigh Valley and Quakertown, but I'm not familiar with them so I'm sure uncle knows best :)

Allegiant Air is a smaller airline that specializes in shorter flights into smaller hubs. We flew from Los Angeles to Billings Montana for something like 99 dollars round trip last summer. NO frills, but inexpensive and comfortable. We had a nice experience with them.

Definitely AirTran--it's a decent line with inexpensive fares, and they fly from Orlando. I'm not sure if Jet Blue flies from Orlando, but if they do its another great line.

I agree with Fizette, try Expedia or Travelocity when you know the dates...it will let you compare rates and find a good deal.
