Thanks - yeah, one of the FIRST things I'd thought of at EoS was WTF? Why is Ed focusing on rocketry!?!?! And the only conclusion I can think of is that he doesn't want to face the facts - the evidence is mounting that in this world, physics works fundamentally differently than in Amestris. In Amestris, Ed can just channel energy from nowhere -- that HAS to mess with their knowledge of quantum mechanics. In this world though, alchemy doesn't work -- and I think Ed so far has realized that Einstein's theories would provide a neat explanation. I have a plan, but I'm not entirely sure if my physics friends are going to want to beat me (or Ed) over the head because of it :)

this is just amazing more and more. the conversation between jean and ed just pulled at me so much. i love how you have defined jean as a person that ed can go to throughout all of this, especially since the both of them are foreigners in germany, their interactions are so interesting. and the lil moment where he calls head mon capitane just killed me.

I am so blessed to have you guys as readers, you're all so observant ;_; That is exactly what I was going for - Jean and Ed wind up sharing a special kinship because they're both slightly out of touch with the native culture here. And "mon capitane" was mean but I couldn't resist XD; (Now I'm waiting for native speakers to show up and snarl at me for misusing French; I should have waited to ask my partner to make sure the quote is correct f^^;; )
