And despite the wording, it wasn't as if he preferred the usage. He was only being considerate, of course, in case she dislikes her name used like the others.

His tone has a smile in it, and with the city as it is, it's likely disturbing. ]

Well, no. Which is why I asked Belin why she assumed we were all afraid.

[His tone is dry. He's noticing a pattern that just everyone here seems to assume that everyone *else* is weaker than them in some way.

Not that the Doctor doesn't assume he's older and smarter than most people. Still, he's lived long enough and is self aware enough to know he has some very stupid moments on occasion.]
