I googled 'London computer fair' and it came up with a range of dates and venues. I'll guess there will be traders there selling linux laptops or knows someone who is. Even if there isn't there may be decent second hand kit you can upgrade.

I installed windows 7 (64bit) onto it. But is comes without OS so you can put whatever OS you like on it.

Amusingly enough I was called up later to be offered a technical support type contract with ebuyer. When asked they do support some linux variants (at least Ubuntu) which I thought was reasonably progressive of them.
