How do you know when it's time to take a day off of work?

Well, it starts when you get your period for the second time in a month (it's so unfair!) and the pains are sharper and more debilitating. Menopause sucks!!!!!Then, you get carsick while driving your husband to work ( Read more... )

Hope the day improves! Take heart on the menopause thing - you're not alone!!!

Your profile page cracked me up with comments about the Mason-Dixon line. I share your love of books. When we moved to Seattle we had no furniture, a civic and 2,500 pounds of books! Our basement is floor to ceiling three walls full. They are everywhere in our home too - I love it!

Oh, menopause! I get a hot flash now every time I use the blow dryer, and half the time I go into work soaked!

What kind of books do you read? I love horror novels, thrillers, medical thrillers....but I also like to read stuff that's different every now and then. I also read a fair amount of stuff from the English cannon.

I still have boxes and boxes of books in my basement, because there just isn't enough room for them all!

I read all sorts of stuff. I tend to lean to non-fiction with an emphasis on the natural world. I love real life stories and am passionate about history. I do enjoy an all out saga like Gabaldon's Outlander Series.

I was a Government Major and married another Government major - so we have heaps of political books as well.

I am currently reading a book called "The Baron in the Trees" by Italo Calvino. It is a fictitious account of a young man that climbs a tree and never comes down. He lives his entire life in the tree. I've just started it. He has climbed the tree. Who knows, could be a whimsical book or just weird. It was originally written in Italian.

I've read some of Calvino's short stories; yes, he is quite good. I'll have to read the one you're reading. If you like Calvino, try some of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's stuff, especially "Leaf Storm."
