We picked up the dog a couple days ago. It's now 7:21a.m. and I've already been up for 2 hours. It's taking some getting used to, but so far things have been pretty smooth. He's the perfect dog for us so far, but he's only 7 weeks old, so there's still a lot of growing to do. He's starting to learn his name, Yuka. It's a good name, easy to yell ( Read more... )

FINALLY got the web server running. I can now FTP, run MySQL queries, and create full dynamic websites all from home. What now? Ritz-n-Titz famizzly dot com. Got in a car accident Sunday. Some guy rear ended me, pushed me into Nicole, Nicole into "Melissa", and "Melissa" into "Hit and run guy in the red minivan". $4,000 worth of damage. Buckled the hood, crumpled the bumper, and dented the rear hatch. Guess I don't have to feel bad about that scratch I layed on the bumper last week :/

FINALLY, FINALLY got linux running. I decided on Ubuntu Linux, a great choice for novice linux users. The install was easy, but it leaves out some key elements. After those are included, I've pretty much got my home-brew web server running. Turns out I might have to uninstall and reinstall apache, because I installed it and PHP before MySQL...
