[meta] The Poetry of Dean and Cas (a manifesto of sorts)

May 28, 2011 18:57

I know Castiel and the Dean/Cas fandom have been torn up between rage and disappointment for days now and some have been more emotional than most. And others have abandoned ship, and we've been bickering on whose fault it was that things changed. There are those who also felt that the ship's sinking. The thing is, this ship will never sink for as ( Read more... )

TBH reading this... makes me even more heartbroken, but it's an amazing take of course.
I've never really thought that deep about their relationship, and now that you've pointed all these out, there's even more to mourn T-T Don't mind me though...

I just hope that Dean and Cas will reconcile in S7 without "reducing" their relationship, if that makes any sense. I can't handle another heartbreak T-T *sniff*

*hugs you* ;__; But yeah, the last 3 episodes had been heartbreaking and well rage-inducing on my part as well. After I was done with "nooo", I picked up the pitchfork and started tearing apart the script and nonsense. lol

I hope they'd reconcile too. It's too much trust on the writers but what can I do :(

Also thanks for reading! This had been a real long post :O

But for those who felt that things are in a bad situation between our beloved characters, yes we're in a bad situation. But it isn't hopeless

But is this where the story ends? No. This is where the new arc begins: the road to Agape, the meeting of two minds and understanding

I am glad you have found hope. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for reading all of that.

My hope right now is on thin ice, because I didn't really like how Gamble handled the show in S6 at least in terms of organization. Everything felt disjointed and scattered, that tried to wrap itself together in the last 3 episodes. There was so much build up going on everywhere and then nothing delivered. So many stuff happening off screen, that in the end the audience are all "WTF IS GOING ON" as well :/

If Cas dies, though, that's it. I'll just wait for someone's call when the show decides to figure out how to bring Cas back in another episode before watching it again.

And I kinda left the other discussion midway lol I'll go back to it after I go through this one.

WOAH.
I really enjoyed reading this. You did a fantastic job of explaining the relationship between Dean and Cas, taking into account Sam's value to Dean, broke down the pieces and highlighted some very well-thought out points in Greek love definitions no-less. Amazing.

I can definitely see how Castiel is considered as the antihero as he had allowed himself to stoop to some low levels behind Dean's back. Not quite the hero in shinning armor but one covered in blood and lies. Interestingly though, the Winchester way has always been about making deals with demons, Bobby included. Seems Cas might just be more part of the Winchester family than he wants to acknowledge.

All I can hope for is that that despite Cas' "You're just a man" statement to Dean and the ugly mess that goes along with that, the writers will find a way to mend this emotionally stunned pair. Never have I been so anxious for the next season as this finale.

Thank you for reading! Wasn't an easy feat going through all that text of meta XD

I want to paint this. *keeps a mental note to do a fanart of that*

Interestingly though, the Winchester way has always been about making deals with demons, Bobby included. Seems Cas might just be more part of the Winchester family than he wants to acknowledge. See, this is my ENTIRE problem with the situation. Bobby did the exact same thing and literally with the exact same demon (Crowley), for nearly the exact same reason (he was desperate, and wants to save the world and not be useless). And yet, when Cas did it, suddenly all friendship and family ties are shut and locked tight. Dean didn't even listen at all ( ... )

Glad to see someone else who hasn't lost all hope in season 7.

Thank you for reading :D

I haven't lost all hope, but I must say that if they kill Cas off, I'm done. I'll be back when they figure out how to bring back the character for an episode or two. :3
