Dean’s not here yet, and they have to meet at some point (hopefully in S7). Unfortunately, Dean isn’t capable of unconditional love when it comes to Castiel.This! :( This was shown in the last 3 episodes, and in my eyes this limitation of Dean's has sunk the Dean/Cas ship. If Dean can put his actions where his mouth is and learn to also love Castiel unconditionally in S7, then OK - otherwise, "family" will only mean "Sam" and that's incredibly restrictive and claustrophobic, when one considers how many enriching and fulfilling relationships we forge with people in our lives

This is a fascinating break-down of the development of their relationship. The Greek definitions of love work very well as you explain it. I've always thought ancient Greek seperations of different kinds of love were more articulate than English ones.

I especially like your prediction for Castiel in season 7. Him being the one to most hurt Dean, and his now needing Dean to understand and become his equal. It makes things look a bit more hopeful than Godstiel being hunted and killed.

Love is an endless form of goodbye. I think I'm gonna quote forever. I'm also hoping with you that Dean would take the step to meet Cas halfway - Cas didn't just meet Dean halfway, he *always* went all the way for Dean, didn't he?
