Need quote help

May 03, 2007 22:43

Gawd, I know this is kind of vague.

I recall once noting a quote from one of TR's novels that declare, "to enjoy life one must fully appreciate the pleasure of being terribly deceived".

That's in no way an exact quote, but it's close. Unfortunately, I can't even remember which book.

Can anyone help me out????

I was thinking that too, but I couldn't tell you what in context it occurs...

There is a very similar quote from "A Woman of No Importance" by Oscar Wilde. "The secret of life is to appreciate the pleasure of being terribly, terribly deceived."

It seems that there is a Richard Bach quote that goes something like, "To live freely and happily you must sacrifice boredom..." I can't remember what book, it's from, though.

I do think that I remember a Robbins quote along the same lines, it's really escaping me if there is one.

OK... so I wasn't much help.
