I had to put my horse down a couple of hours ago. She was only 8, but had developed lung problems to the extent that there was scarring and the medication wasn't really doing anything. I didn't want to put her through the heat of the summer when she couldn't breathe. The worst part about it was that she was happy to see me, she came to the gate to ( Read more... )

Aw pumpkin, don't feel guilty! It would have been far crueler to let her suffer than it would to put her down. Think of it this way: The last thing she saw was you, someone she really loved and that's the best way to go!

I can't say that I know how you feel. I've never had to put down an animal I loved. So mourn and cry and scream and do whatever it takes to feel better! It's okay to be sad, just don't feel guilty! Take solace in the fact that you took good care of her and that she lead a happy life!

Hugs and love,
~ Wisdom

I'm so sorry, Mel. When we had to have our dog put down, I was so guilty for a long time. But then I realized that it was for the best, that we were helping her.

I miss you, by the way. :(

Thanks hon. I don't know if it's been harder because of how young she was or what
I miss you too - I'm thinking about going to visit my uncle in Hamilton sometime soon, we should get together &hearts
