I recommend Confessions of an Heiress conviently located by Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man.

Or at least it would be if I owned a book store.

Well...It doesn't quite fall into the categories you listed but!
I really loved 'On a Pale Horse' by Piers Anthony. Good book, in my opinion.

Obsessive Genius, a biography of Marie Curie. Maybe I liked it so much because I was in a girl-power-y mood when I read it, but it also had enough physics to keep me satisfied.

Have you seen "What the bleep do we know?" yet. That deals with quantum physics a bit. When I am in the mood to watch something different I hit the foreign flick section of the local library.

I have no time to read to recommend any books. I barely have time to watch just the mainstream movies that are out.
