Holiday - next part

So, on Saturday morning we left out hotel in Inverness and took the train from Inverness across Scotland to Kyle of Lochalsh. The scenery was beautiful, the mountains magnificent - and I didn't even try to take any photos out the window - just enjoyed it ( Read more... )

The whole of the north of Scotland really is beautiful. And yes - you will understand why S2C, although shorter than he used to be, decided to give it a miss!

It may be a Victorian rebuild but the setting is glorious whether you see the inside or not. I'd probably just gaze in delight at the surroundings!
Though, when faced with seeing a castle inside, I'm hopeless. My inner magnet draws me in...

Thank you. The surroundings were lovely - and the cafe and gift shop both very nice and not too busy, so we were happy to walk a little around the area and then have coffee and cake for me, a cheese toasty for S2C.

One of the others (the lady with the large husband), said it had a nice Victorian 20 seater multi-leaf table - but that was the high spot.
