What have I been up to? Well, there were teas at church, my cousin visiting for a week, including a nice meal out once some of the other bikers were on their way home so things were quiet, NYK2 and I spent an afternoon experimenting with making filled croissants, I have been knitting pink flowers, organising a picnic for a group of the Messy ( Read more... )

Oooh! I'll have one of the strawberry-topped croissants, please.
:)
You have been busy in lovely ways. Your pink (and purple!) flowers are wonderful.

Edie just keeps growing!

I think you've seen most of my stuff here. Last night's allowed no comments.. I am in a bit of despair to put it mildly.

We realised that it might have been better, aesthetically, to try and get the strawberries into the croissant as they were so juicy that they began to melt the icing. But taste wise NYK2 said it was very good.

The flower project has grown and grown, you might say! I was at someone's house this morning working on it and have some photos.

Edie grows by the week!

Those croissants look yummy. And your crocheted flowers are very pretty.
But my God, Edie has grown again!

We had fun filling croissants - and the result really was good. The flowers are actually knitted - I am a better knitter than a crocheter by a long way!

And honestly, she grows by the inch every time I see her!

Mmmm... those croissants look delicious. I'm torn between the biscoff and the strawberries.

Pretty flowers too. That's the sort of thing my mother-in-law could do easily and I would end up in a terrible tangle. Very good cause!

I am told that the biscoff ones tasted good - but NYK2 and I both went for something with a little contrast. The cafe in Inverness where we saw the original ones did a dulce du leche one But I think it might have been just TOO sweet!

Anne, who was coordinating the flower project, said she had a lot of pale pink ones so I made a point of doing bright, or darker, ones in these last couple of batches. I can knit them, but no matter how I try I cannot do nice crocheted ones like some of the others.

We were very pleased with ourselves! But decided doing different fillings was really fiddly - so next time we might make a batch that are all the same!
