We still have colour in the garden. I commented a couple of weeks ago that I thought we should get more roses flowering - and here they are, taken this afternoon;

Your garden is a true riot of colours! Also: yay, Caravaggio! I've missed him!

Those hamantaschen look really appetizing. What are they made of when they are authentic?

I have ordered him a new bike ready for the winter winds as the wheels on the current ones are already beginning to look a bit tatty.

As far as I can tell there are a few slightly different recipes for the hamantaschen dough, but they all seem to be more of a biscuit dough, either rather like shortbread or a dough with eggs in. I thought shortcrust might cope better with children trying to fold the corners up and pressing them together without it splitting. So they were a bit like a jam tart, but the children decided they were very good to eat!

He seems a happy wee turtle :)

The children enjoyed making, and eating our version of the hamantaschen, definitely.

Still so many colours in your garden! But are Michaelmas daisies the ones which spread like mad?

I'm really happy with the amount of colour there is in the garden still. The Michaelmas daisies with stay in their clump, they aren't very invasive; you can take cuttings, or divide the root ball, but if I just trim it in the spring it should more or less stay where it is.

Lovely roses! I do love how you can keep dividing sedums and get more of them :)

I am really pleased with the roses - especially the pink one, Queen of Sweden, as she was moved, back in the spring, but seems to have settled well into her new place.

I think I will leave the sedums as they are at present, as they are new, but then I will have a go at dividing them.
