I have decided that the advice from last Christmas is just as apt this one - especially with the stormy weather -

I'm so in love with your troll. What a cutie pie.

Yikes, that's a really strong wind. Hang on!

Thank you! I was pleased with him.

The weather has eased a bit - down to 50-60mph now - lots of trees down and a few roofs blown off, but no-body injured. And I have stayed in and watched the bushes blowing around in the garden.

Weather forecast does look a bit dicey--it's always disappointing to have to cancel events, especially this time of year, but mulling everything sounds like a good plan! :D

The storm is abating a bit now - but there are a lot of roads blocked with fallen trees, and no public transport all day, so we were right to cancel - and now we can look forward to January instead :)

In the meantime mulling everything is definitely the way to go!

I love your snowman and the troll! I have a pattern for a macrame troll (or Nissa as we call them in this house - a hangover from living in Norway).

I hope there is no serious damage to anyone on the island!

The snowman is made from a sock :) The troll would be a good way to use up odd bits of wool - I might make a few more to sell at the church coffee morning next week.

There have been a lot of trees down, a couple of roofs off, and at least one air-borne shed that hit a parked car, but nobody injured as far as I know.

As long as it isn’t full-on scary, there is something cozy about battening down the hatches and baking. I yearn for the good old snowstorms of yore.

Your snowman and troll are charming and I am trying to wrap my brain around the concept of mince pie fudge.

There is definitely a cosiness to being in and warm whilst the weather rages through the windows.

Mince-pie fudge is a Christmas staple; I have made it for gifting for many years. I make the fudge as usual - sugar, butter, condensed milk, a hint of salt and a hint of vanilla boiled to the right temperature and well beaten as it begins to cool, then I stir in the mince pies, broken into small pieces, pastry as well as the mincemeat. The pastry bits add an interesting texture, and the fruits and spices mean that it really tastes of Christmas.
