Very artistic. I've never got a twig star to work.

Thank you. My daughter was definitely better at the geometry!

My mom and I have the habit of getting the giggles when we're doing crafts. We built a gingerbread house one year, and we were absolutely howling.

We have never even attempted a gingerbread house :)

I've tried it three or four times and every time swore a solemn oath never to do it again. *g*
They were all a bit oddly-shaped, and by the time we finally managed to get them standing (sometimes with the help of sewing thread bound around them) I simply lost interest in decorating them. Frustration can do that to a person...

I can imagine! I have seen people try it - Bake-Off comes to mind, and decided it looked decidedly difficult to actually make it stand properly.

like those stars!!!
never saw cinnamon sticks that long

who did the wreath with the oranges?
how are you getting them to stay on?
did you wire things to your wreath?

i made a twig wreath to go in the front window but i'm not sure it will hang properly

We were well impressed with the cinnamon sticks - I have no idea how Heidi gets them that length!

The one with the oranges is my daughter's - we used fine wire to fasten everything to the wreaths.

I usually just go with whichever bit of the ring, or star, is the balance point - then tie the ribbon there!

i used to make twig wreath base wreaths for exhibits
for charities to use - even sold a couple
there was a time when wreaths were in
i made them with all kinds of themes

so i still have some extra wreaths
i made this one a bit more elaborate than my style so it would show in the window
of course, i didn't measure
the front window has a divided top and solid glass bottom
I don't know if it will fit in either section
the top even with divides is more visible

poor wreath may just sit
i don't have space for it inside and i would have to disassemble it
it doesn't fit my minimalist style lol

I do hope it fits in some window - it would be such a shame not to share it.

The cinnamon stars are a really lovely idea though I'd struggle mightily to get them into a star shape. Where do you find such long cinnamon sticks?
I'd love to make a wreath.
It just sounds like a really fun time.

As you see from the first picture, we had a diagram - but even so, I kept trying to do a six-pointed star with five sticks!

We got the cinnamon sticks from Heidi, the florist. I had never seen anything like them before either.

We have done wreaths from scratch with lengths of willow twisted and wired to form the shape, also at a workshop run by Heidi, but getting the ready formed ones from The Works was a lot easier! We had a really good afternoon.
