We kids used to make crafts like this with our mom, as well as popcorn-cranberry garlands and clove-stuck dried oranges. The house always smelled fantastic with the cinnamon and popcorn and orange, and we'd listen to carols and...well it was just a wonderful time :)

Thanks for bringing up those fond memories for me.

The stars turned out beautiful!

We are really pleased with our stars.

Popcorn is not really part of our traditions - but I am wondering about seeing if I can get some plain stuff as I can imagine the birds liking strings of popcorn.

My house smells of cinnamon, ginger and baking :)

It gave us the giggles when we realised what the shape we had made looked like!

Wow 85 mile race in the wind - the man is an ironman! LOL!

I like the wreaths - I made a star tree topper very similar out of twigs a few years ago which I always think looks good each year.

He is a very tough long distance cyclist!

The bases for the wreaths came from The Works - £3 each - a bargain I thought! Especially as all the bits we added were from the garden or my craft or baking supplies.

I love the new decorations, and he managed the full 85 miles in the wind? Awesome job all around!

Thank you. He is a tough young man - but I am betting he needed a long soak in the bath when he got home :)

What a lovely family afternoon. The decorations look so pretty and I bet they smell good too.

We were really happy with them - and with rosemary, cinnamon, and bits of the conifer hedge in them they do smell good.
