I love cinnamon stars! They smell so nice! And buying willow rings is a very good idea- making those will mostly end up in frustration because of a circle which is no circle at all.
I was really pleased with the star - I have never seen such enormous cinnamon sticks before.
The willow rings are such a good base. I bought them in the sale last January and, sadly the shop didn't have any in this year - so no more cheap ones this January :(
Yay for the pretty things! You've don nice work. :)
Mind you, those start really aren't easy to make. It's the thickness of the elements that makes it hard to produce a stable structure. I've tried my luck with lolly sticks, and even though they are relatively flat, I had to fill the gaps with small pieces of felt.
Thank you! Oddly I found this easier to get it to fasten together than when I have used lolly stick - to my surprise. I think because I have always tried to do that with two triangles to make a six pointed star.
Heidi said to fasten all the points first, then jiggle it around to get the shape stable before doing the internal bindings, and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be - even if it did take me about twice as long as it did D-d to figure it out!
We are both fine - the odd ouch from my knee, or his hip, but otherwise good. Still on our small island in the Irish Sea - it's still a good place to live.
But how lovely that you have got moved to Spain - and a cruise north at this time of year sounds excellent. We have been able to see the Northern Lights quite often this year by driving to the west of the island on a clear night - but going on a cruise is a much better way of doing it!
I had just sent ningloreth a Jacqui Lawson card about 5 minutes before you commented, but I haven't seen or heard much of her for a while.
