He is due to be flown back tomorrow - he was quite ill about a month ago and seemed to be recovering, then had a relapse of some sort but she sounded more cheerful today so I think he must be over the worst.
You are an energetic woman! (I just passed the 18-month mark with long-Covid fatigue, so I live vicariously through my active friends.) It was such fun to read all of this!
I don't always feel energetic, sometimes it feels as if I am wading through treacle - but I am fortunate inasmuch as it is just the arthritis and sitting down at regular intervals helps - whereas long-covid is so debilitating.
It has been a good week - pacing the things that need doing so there's not been too much of a rush has helped - and the quiz was a really good night. I think that the age range between Pauline and Lizzy is almost 50 years, with me between them, so we covered a lot of songs between us!
I have to pace myself - put cakes in the oven, go and have a sit down, and so on! But most of it has been doing nice things so it doesn't feel as if it is hard work :)
Goodness! You have been in a beehive of activity and it all sounds like fun. I love trivia quizzes but am not very good at that sort of thing. Is the big tree your black one? When you say flown away to hospital I assume you mean to the mainland? There must be a hospital on the Island? Poor lady (and husband).
The big tree is, indeed, the black one. It is now twinkling with the lights catching on the crystal bits, and the gold bits - and the meerkat in the Christmas jumper, the ninja-bread man, the basking shark in the Santa hat, and all those other festive bits :)
And yes, we have a good general hospital on the island, but for some things we need to use the expertise of the specialist hospitals on the mainland - like when my Mum was flown over for her heart treatment. I'm not sure exactly why this gentleman needed to be flown to Liverpool, but his wife sounded more cheerful this morning so whatever he needed must have been successful, I think.
