It does look green! How bizarre, but so lovely :DD It sounds like you had a great day and I love your trees and ornaments. You can tell they were chosen with love. :D

The big one is definitely black - honestly :)

The decorations have become somewhat eclectic, but loved, over the years!

Having decorations you love is what counts the most to my way of thinking.

I love seeing your trees every year. That black one is so unique and sets off the decorations like a jeweler's black velvet does his diamonds. That Krakow nativity is stunning!

I've put a post of my own favorite ornaments, if you ever chance to hop over to the DW side of the community: https://cairistiona.dreamwidth.org/2349239.html

Thank you! The black tree really does set everything off beautifully - I still love it dearly.

When D-d went there, Krakow was not yet a major tourist destination in the way it is now. And although they had begun to make their traditional Nativities in jewelled precious metals again, there were still local people making them from scraps and selling them on the streets, as they had during the communist era, which is how she bought this one. So it is very fragile, and really not worth anything - but has a real history.

And I will go straight away and look at your ornaments - thank you.

Lovely photos of your trees! I really enjoy seeing how other people decorate theirs and your ornament collection is wonderfully homey.

Thank you!

There is a sort of underpinning to the big tree of gold, red, and glass - but I think it would look a bit 'cold' without the shark, the seal the meerkat, and so on!
