It does look green! How bizarre, but so lovely :DD It sounds like you had a great day and I love your trees and ornaments. You can tell they were chosen with love. :D
I love seeing your trees every year. That black one is so unique and sets off the decorations like a jeweler's black velvet does his diamonds. That Krakow nativity is stunning!
Thank you! The black tree really does set everything off beautifully - I still love it dearly.
When D-d went there, Krakow was not yet a major tourist destination in the way it is now. And although they had begun to make their traditional Nativities in jewelled precious metals again, there were still local people making them from scraps and selling them on the streets, as they had during the communist era, which is how she bought this one. So it is very fragile, and really not worth anything - but has a real history.
And I will go straight away and look at your ornaments - thank you.
There is a sort of underpinning to the big tree of gold, red, and glass - but I think it would look a bit 'cold' without the shark, the seal the meerkat, and so on!
