The past week has been busy, apologies for not being around much!

Christmas Day - started the day with carols at church, home to open our presents to each other; I got a gift set of my favourite perfume, and a small, very portable, blue-tooth speaker to use with the laptop when I listen to books or, even more useful, music ( Read more... )

Three cheers for the festive chicken! Candle making looks like a fun time.

And profiteroles, vanilla cheesecake and trifle sound like delicious desserts. :)

Happy New Year!

It was a really nice way to spend the afternoon. It is good to see Emmy being silly - she is the niece whose husband died in June, and her much loved dog died earlier this month (hugs to you, too). It is hard for her.

I had small portions of cheesecake and trifle on the day - and a small portion of profiteroles to take home for Boxing Day :)

I do like a good trifle.

The candle making was really good - choosing and mixing the aromas was especially fun. We can't light the candles until they have had at least a week to dry, so i won't know how successful I was for a few days yet.

What a delightful holiday you had!

I must ask: what did the Festive Chicken smell like?

Thank you! Not like chicken anyway! I think she had gone for some of the spicier notes like cinnamon and vanilla.

I have already forgotten what one of the notes in mine was - there is black pepper as the base, and rhubarb gin as one of the accents, but I can't remember what the other one is.
