It is 2 days til Christmas and I still have not finished my shopping. I have my daughter-in-law (Katie), my parents and my husband left. My son and Katie are going shopping tonight. We had a great Thanksgiving. There were 10 of us for dinner, and all of the food was delicious (if I do say so myself). It was my first time to make homemade cranberry sauce, but it was acceptable. Yesterday, we went to the mall and I purchased the Settlers of Catan game. The family really loves it. (thanks Ryan for introducing me to it).

Thursday evening I had to work over at my job. That night DOT was working in the interstate and it was narrowed to one lane. Well...this SUV (blazer or bronco) was not paying attention and ran into the car in its lane and pushed another vehicle into my lane. I just took an employee physical for the job that I want to take. They tested my vision, distance, close-up and peripheral. I also had a drug test, and would have had to have the Tb skin test if I hadn't already had two this year. I am not going to work at the Edmund ortho hospital. The hours were bad, 10-7 and every other weekend. They had another shift, 6-3, but he said that he had promised that to another pharmacist (new hire). This week we ripped up the carpet out of the living room, dining room and two hallways. Repainted the living room and one hallway. Then I went to Tulsa and worked Thursday and Friday. I will be going to Tulsa for at least the next three weeks. The hospital that I am working at has had two technicians and two pharmacists quit in the last month. ( Read more... )

Today, I worked at an IHS clinic. Myself, another pharmacist and two technicians filled over 500 prescriptions in eight hours. I am pretty tired but satisfied in a job well done.

My travel is job is turning into a lot of travel. For example my next week schedule has me going to Sapulpa, Oklahoma city, Muskogee and Stigler. That's about 900 miles in 4 days. The good thing is that I am getting to experience many types of pharmacy settings and that will keep things interesting.

Tonight I did something that I have never done before, but always wanted to do. I volunteered at clinic that services the underprivileged. I was there for two hours and only had two patients but evening hours are a new thing for this clinic. We dispense mostly samples and inexpensive generic medications. I plan on working there two evening each
