A skill I've picked up over the years working insurance sales is shifting my voice to suit the person I'm speaking with. Different tones and inflections for different sorts. I speak differently to an older lady than I do to a newly retired man, for example. It fits what they expect and respond best to. My shapeshifter gene at work again ( Read more... )

Along with recently discovering in my own speech patterns a self-annoying minor case of upspeak when engaged in social pleasantries, particularly with higher-ups, I've also noticed I take on a much deeper Expert Voice very like a 'boss man' one as needed. I have no idea where it came from, but it is quite useful when I am making full-stop factual assessments to co-workers (incl. bosses), especially when they don't want to hear what I have to say. That, I'm keeping. Now to get rid of the damn annoying high-pitched silly crap.

i am so happy to hear that you are doing well! ditto on the yay progress! go carter, go! i have no doubt that you can tackle any challenge that you put in front of yourself. your heart is too loving and open with compassion for good things not to come your way- while they may take take time- you are so deserving of all the prosperity and goodness that is going to come your way. i have seen your heart and you deserve many blessings.
