I hope by tonight I will get the pictures from Saturdays house destruction festivities posted. It took about 6 hours, and there is a little cleanup along the base of the walls still left. It's pretty slow going there, just hammering away with a pry bar. The joists are completely exposed, and 24" apart. I will be investing in some 2x6's as well ( Read more... )

I was trying to find this the other night. Wow Glenn Beck is an unashamedly a manipulative asshole.

The water damage was far worse than I expected. Almost all of the closet sub floor is water damaged, and when I was under the house, it looks like the damage spread to the bathroom floor as well. With my $1000 deductible and the insurance company covering none of the "long term" damage, and depreciating the carpeting and such, it makes more sense ( Read more... )

So last night I left work early and worked myself to death in the yard. My roommate is a bit of a lawn junkie so since he was going to help his grandmother with her yard this weekend and already had an aerator, he decided that we should aerate my lawn. Went to the gym last night for the first time in forever. 5 minutes into my time on the elliptical I thought that I was going to die. Subjected myself to it for 10 more minutes, caught my breath and did the stationary bike for another 15. I need to figure a better time to work out, because 7-8 there it's packed, my cardio choices were limited ( Read more... )

Woke up at 3 am, some noise or something. Then spent the next 3 1/2 hours waking up every few minutes. And staying home to catch up on rest would just put me behind at work.

I hate my brain.

Somehow the phone manages to be busy every time I call. This is now 3 days. And somehow, magically perhaps, at 4 in the afternoon, they all manage to get out of the office on time and off of the phone so I get a damn machine. I swear at this point, I think that they walk in door with a cup of coffee in one hand, take the phone off of the hook ( Read more... )

Happy first day of spring....

It's awfully cold to be spring, two days ago, the house was open and it was wonderful, last night I was under thick blankets with a dog attached to my side. Must remember to enjoy the chill in the night air when summer is around and I am cursing it's heat and humidity.
