It's been a long time since I studied Ancient Greek at school, but I seem to remember that it doesn't have a gerund. Am I remembering correctly

Also, it makes me think and develops my debate skills.
Plus, it reminds me that not all Christians ARE the enemy in the first place. Polycarp1, for instance, is wonderful. Having grown up in a 'gays are bad' environmment, he came to the conclusion that it just isn't so, and is one of the more erudite and eloquent pro-gay people on the forums, without being any less of a Christian.

I dunno. It's kinda fun. I won't change any of the more blinkered people's views, but it might impact some of the lurkers.

I am fully down with the idea that not all Xtians are the enemy, sleeping with one and all ;-) And indeed, many of the posters seem like perfectly decent people making perfectly decent points. I would simply have thought that it might get a bit, well, tiring after a while.

Are you on Ship Of Fools as well? I'm guessing not, cos that'd clearly be the best place for your question. It has loads of people who know Koine Greek back to front.

I don't know about gerunds, but I'm not at all convinced that arsenokoitai means anything like 'homosexuals'. This Wikipedia article is remarkably informative. As far as I can tell, Philo is the first person to use the word (and he uses it just once) and Paul is the next person (and he also uses it only once).

But having read part of the debate, I think you're wasting your time with these bigots.
