I love summer barbecues. Everyone is so relaxed and friendly. I get to meet new people and eat watermelon and fresh corn. Last night was no exception. I really enjoy hanging out with Bryan and Sharon and their friends. They are really nice people. I was unusually chatty, cracking jokes and shit.

Day 1 of celibacy is going real smoothly so far.

Just working 3 days a week now at the public library. Even that drives me crazy somehow. I have exhausted my endless well of patience and am now on my way to becoming a brusque bitchy customer service person. How did I ever think I could make it as a teacher?

Had a heart attack when I read the instructions for U-Illinois more carefully and realized I needed to write TWO essays, not just one personal statement. Crap. I am so braindead lately.

I'm sitting around in a bathrobe on Election Day instead of out of the polls or at a job or doing something remotely useful. I just ate a few chocolate chip cookies and now feel quite ill. But this is probably my last day off until Thanksgiving so I had to indulge.

At this point I have applied for health insurance and will have to wait a few more weeks to find out IF I am approved, and if I am approved what the company will actually cover. Such intense anxiety today. When my mind is clouded over in darkness like this it's almost impossible to tell myself rationally that life won't always be this way.
