Breaking up is...well fairly easy to do, actually

That's it television. I'm sorry, but that's simply the last straw. Sure, we've had some good times together, as you like to keep reminding me whenever you try to convince me to get back together again, but this abusive relationship has to end, and I'm the only one empowered to end it ( Read more... )

Aww. You don't have to break up with TV. Just with Fox. :D

Yeah, but someday you'll be walking along, and there TV will be, chattin' up someone you've met but don't really *know*, and it'll all come flooding back, and you'll be like why, TV, why did I let you go. Why didn't I at least try to be friends? Sure, books and I are going steady now. And that's a good thing. But I miss you. Wanna have coffee sometime?

Also -- a really important note to all this is that Dollhouse isn't [yet] cancelled. In fact, the episode that won't be aired was always intended to be extra, and outside the season arc. The show's still "on the bubble." In fact, the stealth canceling of Sarah Connor -- sad as it is -- may actually make it a little easier for Dollhouse to survive. And it's not 100% over for SCC either. I don't mean to bring your hopes up, but there's still some . . . um . . . hope.

If I had to pick one of the two to survive, I may be in a minority of one here, but it wouldn't be Dollhouse.

TV and I broke up a while back because she wanted me to keep paying for all our dates. I decided it wasn't worth it and we've been separated for many years, although I still catch her online from time to time, and when I visit someone who has cable and HBO, TV and I fall back into a FWB arrangement, which is best all around.

So it's always, like, a group thing? Huh.

Oh sure, absolutely. We broke it off years ago and didn't speak to each other for a long time for the same reason. Then Internet came over and said "Look, you know TV, I know TV. I'll even pay TV's part of the bill." That's how the whole tawdry mess got started again. Not this time, TV! Not this time.

But, but: http://grrm.livejournal.com/84893.html

HBO did right by Rome. I'm hoping for the same for A Song of Ice and Fire.

I saw that! When Ice & Fire makes it to TV's cousin media, DVD--who, let's face it, we all know is a little bit slow on the uptake, but at least you know what you're getting up front--we'll be sure to check it out!

Hear hear. We don't actually do TV as in something you watch before it's available on your computer, though occasional weakness leads to iTunes downloads.

I'll still be glued to the TV as long as 24, Chuck, The Office and Reaper are still on.

Fox has a horrible reputation for killing good shows, so neither of these shows are really a surprise. It's just disappointing.

I'm so gobsmacked that Joss would go back to Fox after what happened to Firefly. Was there really no other option? What did he think was going to happen? *shakes fist at heavens*

My understanding is that Fox was attached to Eliza Dushku. She had a contract with them, so if he wanted her, it had to be Fox.
