My dad and I took one of our cats to the vet today because she was sick and was having trouble breathing. *hug* I'm sorry! A friend that I've known since childhood just had to have her EIGHTEEN year old cat put down. We both cried. Cats are just like friends, its sad when they go away too. At least you did the humane thing and had her put to rest. But still. I'm sorry.

My mom has a thing about having two cats in the house, so Lizzie was the replacement for our old cat, who we had to put down at 18 as well. We were able take our time saying goodbye to our old cat and to come to terms with losing her, but this was so sudden. We took Lizzie into the vet and they immediately put her on oxygen, and we didn't see her again until it was time to say goodbye.

It's better knowing that she's not in any more pain. I can't imagine what it must have been like for her, with that tumor stretching out her heart and fluid filling up in her abdomen.

Thank you.
